911 Remembrance - 9 Years Ago!

FLYThe American FlagTODAY!!
"Stormin' NYC"
(The World Trade Towers - 1989)
New York City, NY
"United We Stand"
(Fragment from The World Trade Towers - 2010)
911 Memorial Park - Newtown, PA

THE SCOOP: The Garden of Reflection 911 Memorial in Bucks County is something to see (and to remember)!!  The American flag was flown over ALL three crash sites from theat fateful day, and raised in tribute to the fallen.  The hulking piece of metal seen in the background of "United We Stand" (an image that is part of stayMor.com's NEW "PAWtriotic" card line) is an actual steel beam from The World Trade Towers.  There are propeller pieces from the airplane that went down at Shanksville, PA, and engraved names of all of the heroes from flight 93, as well as, all of the names of everyone killed in the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon on that horrific day!!
LIFE SNIPPET: I know most everyone in this country, let alone the world, remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when the news reported the attacks!!  It was such a surreal time.  I myself had just delivered my boy/girl twins at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut.  They came early (August 26th and Aug. 27th) and the hospital required them to stay in the NICU (Neo-natal Intensice Care Unit) until thay reached 35 weeks old (gestationally speaking).  So I would visit, rock, hold, take pictures (of course) and hang-out with them in the Stamford NICU everyday.    Following the attacks of 9-11, there was a fury of activity at the hospital.  The windows of the NICU overlooked the main parking lot, which started to be turned into a heli-pad to shuttle survivors to the hospital.

I held my newly born twins and prayed for survivors from the debris.  As the days wore on, my hope and the Nation's dwindled.  It was replaced by a 2,973 body count of victims.

Labor Day & The American Flag

"PAWtriotic" VS. "PAWlitical"
HAPPY UPCOMING, FLAG FLYING, LABOR DAY!!

LIFE SNIPPET: I started a NEW body of work this past March that features my own dog, Delta, at various historical locations with the good 'ol American flag. These new images have been aptly christened "The PAWtriotic Series" and will be available soon as a boxed set of notecards. It is my hope to partner with an appropriate organization to "give back" some of the proceeds.

FYI: Initially one of the above two images was to be chosen as a promo piece for a mass mailing to announce an upcoming Animal Show at a local Malvern Art Gallery.  Unfortunately, both were declared "TOO political" to use.  I personally think a dog carries no biases and crosses all classes, easily representing everyman anywhere.

So to ALL the everyman, everywhere Americans across this great country--what do you think the flag represents?  Please take a look at the rest of the PAWtriotic images and write an opinion. Am I barking up the wrong flagpole?  My inquiring mind wants to know!!

PS: Please do cast your paw before September 10th, for stayMor.com photography to be counted and considered as the Best Pet Photographer for the "Top Dog" spot on Philly's HOT List.

Philly's Hot List

SUMMER SIZZLE

"PAW-triotic" or "PAW-litical"

"From Sea to Shining Sea"

THE SCOOP:  Please be sure to vote for stayMor.com photography as the Best Pet Photographer on Philly's HOT List to be counted before September 9th.

LIFE SNIPPET:  Summer's winding down and my kids and I (sans dogs) are heading to the beach for their respective birthdays and a little bit of R&R.  For the last 9 young
years of their lives, I've taken pictures of them on the beach in Ocean City, NJ.  They are boy-girl twins that happen to be born over the midnight hour (20 minutes before and 20 minutes after), so they each have their own special day to claim as their own.  Their birth dates (8-26 and 8-27) always fall near Labor Day weekend, so usually there is an American flag involved in the photo shoot.

Funnily enough I started a NEW body of work this past March that features my own dog, Delta, at various historical locations with the good 'ol American flag.  These new images have been aptly christened "The PAWtriotic Series"!  I am an American and LOVE my country's flag!  I do NOT believe this work to be "PAW-litical" in any way, but just the opposite--a dog crosses all political biases.  Everyone can relate to the high flyin' flag of the United States of America depicted with Man's Best Friend.

Two of the pieces from "The PAWtriotic Series", one was to be selected as the promo piece for an upcoming animal show at a local art gallery were declined for being "TOO Political"!  So to ALL the everyman, everywhere Americans across this great country--what do you think the flag represents?  Have a look-see at the rest of the dog-n-flag images and write a comment to me, Stacey P. Morgan (aka:

Happy HoliDOGs & A Nippy CHEW Year!

"Silver Balls"

Silver balls, silver balls,
It's Dogmas time in the city.
Jing-a-ling,
Hear the leash ring.
Soon it will be Chewtoy Day!

LOCATION:  Hartford Dog Park
                  260 Gulph Creek Rd.
                  Wayne, PA 19087

DATE & TIME: Saturday, January 2nd, Noon to 2pm

THE SCOOP:
Dog Park HOWLiday Party!

LIFE SNIPPET: DOGmas is around the corner and every good dog deserves a romp and a "pawty" all their own. The Hartford Dog Park party accomplishes both!  Delta (my Vizsla seen in his above yearly HOWLiday "PETrait"), my two kids and I have been going for the last three years.  It's a chance to mingle with like-minded dog lovers, eat (bring something, if you want), have your dog sit on santa's lap, pay your yearly club dues (a miesley $15) and let your dogs run amok with their friends.

The dog club culls some killer items from area businesses like Dogma Premier Dog Spa, Spots, Radnor Veterinary Hospital, Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals, Family Pet Resort, Buzzy's Bow Wow Meow, Lucie's Pet GroomingBraxton's and this year, stayMor.com photography (aka Stacey P. Morgan), donated a copy of my book -- "AlphaPET Zoup A to Z".  So come "pawticipate" and join in the festivities.

FYI: Guard your food!  A couple of years ago my kids were tailgating and some savy dogs sniffed, snatched and ran away with their yummy ham croissant sandwiches. Afterwards, they were looking around with their doe eyes saying -- "Please Sir, may I have another?"  (said with a "ruff" cockney accent)!

HAPPY HoliDOGs & Nippy CHEW Year!!

"Mudday Style" VS. "Holiday Style"

LOCATION: Wayne, PA

THE SCOOP:  "Mudday Style" (B&W film with Sepia tone) vs. "Holiday Style"(B&W digital with Hand-painted colors).  Post a comment and VOTE on your favorite!
  • FILM vs. DIGITAL: So I've gone ahead and asked Santa for a digital camera (my research has brought me to a choice between the D90 and the D700). I'm leaning toward the D700 due to the full-frame capability.  I've been waiting for Nikon to get the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) thang going on a pro SLR camera for a while.
LIFE SNIPPET: All I know is what a difference four months can make! Not only in the growth of my children as seen above in the two photos but to the demise of my lab in CT processing traditional black-and-white film, to borrowing a neighbor's digital camera, to realizing 2010 is the leap into the digital world for me!  Plus, I don't know if it's the digital thing or not but my kids and dog "clean up real nice" in the "Holiday Style" picture and are the shiny-est silver balls of all to me!

FYI:  If you gaze into the silver ball of the future you can see I'm -- "Having a Ball" (pun intended) with a digital camera.  Nothing better than instant visual gratification!
